All six have been arrested and are being interviewed by police. None have been charged.
“It is very early in the investigation, and they are people of interest that we are speaking to”, King said.
“This is a gentleman who was going about his business … within the local area, and certainly, he didn’t deserve what occurred overnight.”
Locals were horrified as images of the taped-off pizzeria emerged on social media on Wednesday morning.
“Really hope nothing happened to the owners, lovely people,” one person said.
“My dad was downstairs last night; we live in those apartments above. They (were) trying helping [sic] him for an hour,” another added.
Alagoz, who was born in Turkey, was well known around Kingswood. Customers routinely left positive reviews about his warm smile and generous service.
He was known to hand out free pizzas at closing time, and police said he was heavily involved in the Nepean community.
“He was so lovely,” one person wrote online of Alagoz.
A strike force has been established to investigate Alagoz’ death, with support from the homicide squad.
