IHOP announced the launch of its first everyday value menu, featuring multiple combo meals available at most locations for just $6.
Newsweek reached out to IHOP via email for comment.
What To Know
IHOP described the rollout as part of a broader push to offer more affordable dining options and to promote the chain through a campaign called “Happy Plates” aimed to attract younger customers including millennials and Gen Zers, the company said in a September 15 press release.
What To Know
The new value menu includes four complete breakfast meals:
- Breakfast Faves Combo (two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, and two strips of bacon or two pork sausage links).
- Ham & Cheese Omelette (ham, jack and cheddar cheeses and white cheese sauce served with two pancakes).
- French Toast Faves Combo (one slice of Classic Thick ‘N Fluffy French Toast, two eggs, and two strips of bacon or two pork sausage links).
- House Scramble (eggs scrambled with chopped hickory-smoked bacon and jack & cheddar cheese served with hash browns).
IHOP said the new menu is available at participating U.S. restaurants seven days a week between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.. While many locations would charge $6 for these different meals, some locations have priced it at $7.
Dine Brands, the parent company of IHOP and other notable brands like Applebee’s, said in its second quarter (2025) report released in August that IHOP’s year-over-year domestic same-restaurant sales declined 2.3 percent.
“In the second quarter, we continued to build positive momentum across both Applebee’s and IHOP, with notable improvements in sales and traffic,” John Peyton, CEO of Dine Brands, said in a statement. “IHOP saw growth fueled by its refreshed brand positioning and value strategy.
“At the same time, our Dual Brands initiative is building traction with our franchisees as our second domestic unit also opened with strong economics. We remain confident that our ongoing investments will generate sustainable value for our shareholders and franchisees based on these results.”
Food costs remain high and have impacted Americans’ eating-out habits.
Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data released this month showed that the cost of food away from home was up year-over-year by nearly 4 percent.
IHOP has been an American staple dating back to its opening in 1958 in Burbank, California, and currently operates 1,797 restaurants globally including locations in all 50 U.S. states and 13 countries, according to Investing.com. Roughly 99 percent of IHOP locations are run by independent franchisees.
What People Are Saying
IHOP President Lawrence Kim said in a press release: “We know our guests are more value conscious than ever, so the launch of IHOP’s Value Menu is a direct response to what they want—delicious food, variety, abundance, and affordability without compromise, seven days a week.
“We’re 67 years young, and this is just the beginning of a new chapter where we bring fresh energy and continue to delight our guests with the comfort and joy they’ve come to expect from IHOP.”
What Happens Next
IHOP advised customers to check participation and pricing at local restaurants because availability and prices could vary by location, and the chain said the menu would be offered at participating U.S. restaurants for a limited time.
