The Pokémon Company will hold a Pokémon Presents livestream presentation next week, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, it’s been announced.
Every year, The Pokémon Company holds a Pokémon Presents livestream on Feb. 27, the original release date of “Pokémon Red and Green” in Japan, often called Pokémon Day. These presentations offer updates to products across the Pokémon range, including the main series video games, spinoff titles, mobile games, the Pokémon TCG and TCG Pocket, and animated productions like movies and TV series.
This year will be no different, although it is expected to be bigger due to 2026 being the 30th anniversary since the original games’ release.

2026 Pokémon Presents Livestream – What to Expect
At this stage, it’s not currently known how long the 2026 30th Anniversary Pokémon Presents livestream will run for, although previous years have lasted between 20 and 30 minutes.
Players are expecting to see their first look at the tenth generation of Pokémon games, following on from Pokémon Scarlet, Violet, and Legends Z-A in the ninth generation. Many players anticipate that the tenth generation of games will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.
Pokémon fans can also expect new merchandising announcements, as well as announcements for the whole suite of Pokémon mobile games, spinoffs, and the animated series. Pokémon TCG announcements are common at Pokémon Presents presentations, too, with new mechanics and card types typically announced during the livestream.
Ports of “Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen” will also be available on the Nintendo Switch immediately following the presentation, and are available to preorder now.
Because it’s the 30th anniversary of Pokémon this year, many are expecting The Pokémon Company will have more and bigger announcements than usual.
