Golden Bachelor alum Amy Kaplan’s family just got a little bigger.
Amy exclusively tells Us Weekly that her daughter Lexi Kaplan Giudice, 33, has welcomed her first baby, a son named Jordan Arthur, marking a major milestone for the Kaplan family and officially making Amy a grandmother for the very first time.
Jordan arrived on Thursday, June 18, at 5:36 p.m., weighing an impressive 9 pounds, 11 ounces. While Amy admits the title of “grandmother” still feels surreal, meeting her grandson instantly changed everything.
“You know what’s so funny? I don’t feel like I’m a grandmother,” Amy tells Us with a laugh. “I’m just too young, even though I know I’m old.”
But after spending time with baby Jordan, she says she’s already completely smitten.
“I love him. He’s precious. He’s gorgeous,” Amy gushes. “I love holding him. He opens his little eyes, and he was looking straight at me and listening to me speak. He’s very alert.”
The emotional moment Jordan entered the world is one Amy says she’ll never forget.
“The moment he was born, I was crying,” she recalls. “As soon as I saw him, he was just precious. He’s a combination of Lexi and Jeff. He looks like a perfect combination of them.”
Jordan’s middle name carries special significance for the family. Amy reveals that Arthur was chosen in honor of her late father, and they chose a “J” name so he would have the same initials as Lexi’s husband, Jeff Giudice. The couple had been calling their son “Jordy” for months before his arrival and felt confident they had found the perfect name long before delivery day.
Lexi, who married husband Jeff on May 31, 2025, announced her pregnancy earlier this year. After nine months of anticipation, she says finally meeting her son made every challenge worthwhile.
“I’m exhausted,” Lexi tells Us from the hospital. “I didn’t sleep for, like, a second last night. The first night is no joke. It is definitely very difficult, but it’s worth it.”
Jordan was delivered via C-section after what Amy describes as a relatively smooth procedure. Amy and Lexi’s twin sister, Allie Kaplan Rutstein, waited anxiously nearby while Jeff accompanied Lexi during surgery.
“Lexi was a little nervous and didn’t know what to expect,” Amy says. “She got an epidural, and 45 minutes later, he was out and she was sewn up.”
For Lexi, the most memorable moment came when she finally laid eyes on her son despite battling nausea throughout the procedure.
“I was so nauseous the entire surgery,” she recalls. “But when I saw him, I was immediately like, ‘I’m in love with him.’ I was crying, and he was just perfect and amazing.”
Watching her daughter step into motherhood has left Amy reflecting on just how quickly time has passed.
“It’s surreal,” she says. “I just had them the other day. Thirty-three years later, it’s kind of scary.”
Adding to the excitement is the fact that Lexi isn’t the only Kaplan twin expecting. Allie is currently pregnant with a baby girl and is due on September 7, meaning Amy will welcome two grandchildren less than 10 weeks apart.
Fans first met Amy on The Golden Bachelor season 2, but she and her daughters have since built a devoted social media following through their family-focused content. Known online as the Kaplan Twins and the Kaplan Twins Mama, the trio regularly share glimpses into their close-knit relationship, family milestones, motherhood journeys, lifestyle moments and behind-the-scenes updates from everyday life.
Allie says seeing her sister become a mom made the reality of her own upcoming motherhood journey sink in.
“It’s so crazy and surreal to see him finally here!” Allie tells Us. “I watched my sister’s belly grow for nine months and I still can’t believe that he was growing inside of her. Seeing Lexi hold him for the first time and become a mom was such a special moment. It made everything feel real instantly.”
She adds, “Seeing him finally here made me even more excited to meet my own baby girl in a few months!”
The sisters hoped to have children close in age, inspired by their own bond as identical twins.
“Growing up as twins, it always felt like I had a built-in best friend, and we wanted to do the same for our kids,” Allie explains. “It’s also so special because since we’re identical twins, even though the babies are technically cousins, genetically they will be half-siblings.”
Amy agrees that having grandchildren born so close together will create a unique connection.
As for what baby Jordan will call her, Amy is still undecided. “Is it going to be Gigi, Coco, Mimi, Nonna? I don’t know,” she says. “I guess whatever he calls me.”
One thing she does know? She plans to be a very hands-on grandmother. “I’m going to spoil them,” Amy says with a laugh. “I can’t wait to share every moment with them. I’m going to be very, very close to them.”
For now, the proud mom and newly minted grandmother is simply soaking in the joy of a growing family.
“Most grateful for my family,” Amy tells Us. “It’s really surreal, and I’m super excited. Having the responsibility as a grandparent, it’s a pleasure. It’s a joy. It’s not a chore at all. We’re very, very lucky.”
