Victorian teachers will once again prepare for a 24-hour stopwork action after voting to further escalate their campaign for better pay and conditions by striking on August 19.
The Australian Education Union council met on Friday to decide on its next steps, voting for further industrial action to force the Labor government back to the negotiating table.
Victorian president Justin Mullaly said Premier Ben Carroll needed to provide a revised offer. He said the state government also needed to sign a school funding deal with the Commonwealth.
“If necessary we will stop work again,” he said.
