A Reddit post showing a parcel seemingly wedged into a courier locker has sparked debate over whether the delivery driver was careless.

The image was shared by user fluffybottle21 on Reddit with the caption: “courier left my package like this.” It was posted in the popular r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit, where it quickly gained more than 22,000 upvotes.

The photo shows a large cardboard box placed inside a metal courier locker in a way that appears to take up the entire compartment. The parcel is positioned so snugly that there seems to be no clear way for the recipient to remove it without damaging the box, prompting many users to question the courier’s decision‑making.

Courier lockers—commonly used in apartment buildings, offices and parcel collection hubs—typically rely on drivers selecting an appropriately sized compartment for each delivery. In many systems, couriers can indicate when a parcel does not fit and request or trigger the opening of a larger locker. Best practice guidelines from major logistics companies generally instruct drivers to avoid forcing parcels into smaller compartments, as it can damage packages or prevent customers from retrieving them easily.

That context fueled the original poster’s frustration. Responding to criticism in the comments, the OP insisted that the situation was avoidable, writing: “Here you can select package does not fit and a bigger box would open he was just lazy lol.”

Still, Redditors were far from unanimous. Some found humor—or even satisfaction—in the oddly precise fit.

“Oddly satisfying,” shared one user.

“Even impressive,” shared another commentator.

“Some would say…mildlyinfuriating,” another quipped, nodding to the subreddit’s theme.

Others offered practical solutions. “Stab open the box and pull it out with the opening,” suggested one user. Another added: “You can totally pinch that lower left edge and pull it out.”

Several commenters questioned whether the courier deserved any backlash at all. “What other choice did he have? Why are you not happy?” one asked.

There were also jokes imagining the delivery driver’s side of the story. “I hope to see a corresponding post from some random, super proud mailman on r /perfectfit,” one user wrote.
