A 30-year-old man officers coaxed out of a tree over an almost 12-hour period on Sunday night is set to appear before court today.
Police were called to a Stirling Street home, in Bridgeman Downs, about 3.30pm on Sunday, following allegations two men had broken into the home and stolen a car.
The 40-year-old male resident allegedly confronted the pair, who police have since said threatened him with a knife before allegedly fleeing in the 40-year-old’s white Toyota Corolla.
Officers said they tracked one of the alleged offenders – a 30-year-old Strathpine man – to a home in Strathpine about 6.30pm on Sunday.
The 30-year-old then climbed a tree but was eventually coaxed down and arrested almost 12 hours later, about 6.50am.
He was charged with four offences including robbery armed/in company/wounded/use personal violence, serious assault police officer, possessing dangerous drugs, and was expected before Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
