Amanda Batula hoped that Lindsay Hubbard and her ex-boyfriend Turner Kufe could’ve reached a “happy medium” over privacy issues before their split.

Amanda, 33, exclusively told Us Weekly that she doesn’t think Turner had “to be front and center” in Lindsay’s social media content, but that she was still able to “put herself out there so publicly” before they ended their romance.

Lindsay, 38, announced during the Summer House season 9 reunion on Wednesday, June 4, that she and Turner had pressed “pause” on their romantic relationship and were just “coparents” to their daughter Gemma, 5 months. (Lindsay and Turner reconnected in late 2023 and officially started dating in January 2024. They welcomed their daughter, Gemma, that December.)

“As of right this second, I think there’s a lot for us to figure out when it comes to parenting, coparenting, my lifestyle, me being public, him being private,” Lindsay said on the show. “It’s too much at once.”

Amanda, for her part, explained to Us, “Once they had the baby too, I think the biggest issue at that point wasn’t that Turner was private. It was that he also wanted Gemma to be private, and they sort of disagreed on that.”

Lindsay made similar claims during the Summer House reunion, saying, “It’s a struggle. Dad is private, mom is public. What does that make baby? It’s hard.” She noted, “Being public, you can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube. … I’m still Lindsay from Summer House.

Amanda, meanwhile, pointed out to Us that Turner “didn’t have to be on the show, but like, you know, be a part of her Instagram Stories [and] be a part of her behind-the-scenes stuff.”

She further explained that she “could understand how big of a struggle” that was for Lindsay to not be able to “share so much” of her life with her fans, especially the “exciting part.”

The bathing suit designer recalled that when she and husband Kyle Cooke began dating, she wanted to “show [him] off” because she was “proud” of him. Since Lindsay has kept Turner off her social media accounts — at least his face — Amanda told Us she could see how it became a pressure point for them.

Despite Lindsay’s recent ups and downs, Amanda said fans can expect her to be back in the Hamptons when the cameras start rolling later this summer. Gemma, however, is unlikely to be spotted at the shared house.

“Lindsay is not leaving our TV screens anytime. Even if she breaks into the house, she will make her way onto our TV screens,” Amanda told Us with a laugh. “She’s definitely gonna be there [but] Gemma should not come because Kyle’s music and antics are not as safe for babies.”

She teased, “We haven’t baby proofed the house. But yeah, it’s gonna be interesting. It might be different.”

As fans wait to see what the next season of Summer House looks like, Amanda is focusing on her latest partnership with Face Reality following Mental Health Awareness Month in May.

“When I went off birth control, my skin got really, really bad. I was breaking out so severely,” Amanda told Us of her skin journey before using Face Reality. “I was also filming while I was going through these breakouts, couldn’t figure out my skin.”

Once she began using the products, Amanda said she began feeling better and it played a positive role in getting her depression under control as well. “When you don’t feel good, when you have one pimple, you think everyone can see it, and then when you have 20, you’re like, ‘Oh my God, that’s all my whole face is one big pimple, I’m not leaving the house,’” she explained. “It definitely played a role in my depression, too.”

Amanda remembered getting on antidepressants to regulate her mental health and then tackling her skin problems with Face Reality. “[It] has been an absolute saving grace. It really helped me get my confidence back,” she gushed. “This is truly incredible. There are so many good things, and there’s something for everyone.”
