Kawhi Leonard has not escaped injury concerns in 2025-2026.
The Clippers’ forward started the year off healthy, but hasn’t been in the lineup for the Clippers since early November. His last appearance came on November 3, when the Clippers hosted the Miami Heat. The star forward checked in for a little over 37 minutes. He produced 27 points, four rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks in a 120-119 Clippers loss.
Currently, Leonard is dealing with an ankle sprain, along with a foot injury. The Clippers released an official injury update for Leonard last week, detailing where he is with his current lineup of setbacks.
“When he sprained his ankle, it kind of triggered a mechanism in his foot,” Clippers President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank told reporters, according to ESPN. “He is making really good progress. We will continue to treat him. We will have a better feel for it next week.”
The Clippers don’t intend to have Leonard on the court for Monday’s matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Before the game, the team offered an important update on the star forward.
“Kawhi Leonard [is] back on the court and progressing,” The Athletic reported. “Not certain to return during trip, nearing return.”
Monday night will mark the eighth absence in a row for Leonard. Since he’s been out, the Clippers have struggled to win games in his absence. The Clippers have gone 1-6 since he entered his recovery.
In the six games he played this year, Leonard has posted averages of 24.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and nearly one block per game. He is shooting 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from three.
Going into Monday’s action, the Clippers are 4-9. They take on a 7-5 Sixers team that is dealing with injury concerns as well. For the past few games, the Sixers haven’t had their star center, Joel Embiid, on the court. They also lost their standout forward Kelly Oubre Jr. to a left knee sprain.
While the Sixers have been without Paul George since the start of the year, they are expected to get the veteran forward back in the lineup to make his season debut.
The Sixers and the Clippers are scheduled for a 7 PM ET tip on Monday night.
