West Coast premiership defender Jeremy McGovern has opened up on his next steps as an AFL concussion panel meets to determine the veteran Eagle’s playing future.
Speaking to Nova 93.7’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun, McGovern said he believed the panel was doing “everything they can to make sure that I’m all good”, but admitted he was “anxious I might have played my last game”.
McGovern phoned in from Melbourne, having met with the panel on Thursday night.

He said the process involved “answering a lot of questions” as the panel pored over his playing history.
McGovern was referred to the panel after a head knock during the Eagles’ round-eight loss to Melbourne.
The premiership veteran had been shoved into the back of Melbourne’s Harrison Petty and the clash concussed both players.
Demons forward Jake Melksham, who pushed McGovern, was later cleared of any wrongdoing.
“Jeremy has suffered multiple concussions over his career, which adds complexity to his situation and his recovery,” West Coast football boss Gavin Bell said in a statement at the time.
Speaking to Nova on Friday, McGovern said there were “a lot of things to try and remember” during the process, and he was “obviously anxious that I might have played my last game”.
“But yeah, until that happens, then I don’t want to try worry about it too much … at the same time, I respect what’s going on and understand what’s going on.”
