Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are one of the teams expected to be active in discussing leading up to the 2025 NFL trade deadline in a couple of weeks. After making the massive trade just ahead of the regular season to ship Micah Parsons out of town to the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys have plenty of assets to move around.

In the Parsons trade, Dallas received two first-round picks and star defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Jones has been very open about being willing to take a big swing if one presents itself.

With that in mind, the Cowboys have been connected to a few different potential targets.

Eagles’ AJ Brown Trade Rumors Receive Major Update

Should Dallas take a big swing, many expect that it would come on the defensive side of the football. Adding another pass rusher should be a top-tier priority for the Cowboys at the deadline if an opportunity comes up.

One potential target that Dallas has been connected to on multiple occasions has been Cincinnati Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson. However, a new update has been shared that is bad news for the Cowboys if they were planning to try and acquire him.

According to a report from NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Bengals do not appear to be highly interested in trading Hendrickson away.

“Bengals All-Pro pass rusher Trey Hendrickson is drawing attention around the league, with the 49ers showing the most interest,” Russini wrote. “Cincinnati isn’t shopping him, and after the Bengals’ Thursday night win, most do not expect him to get moved.”

Hendrickson has been a dominant force on the defensive side of the football in Cincinnati. Over each of the last two years, he recorded 17.5 sacks apiece. So far this year, he has off to a solid start.

New York Jets Linked to Bizarre Trade to Replace Justin Fields

In the six games he has played for the Bengals in 2025, the 30-year-old defensive end has recorded 15 total tackles to go along with four sacks, a forced fumble, and a defended pass.

While Hendrickson would have looked good leading the way for the Dallas defense, it doesn’t sound like the team will have a chance to acquire him. That could change ahead of the deadline, but for now this is an unfortunate update for the Cowboys.
