A body has been found after a fire ripped through a house on Brisbane’s south on Saturday afternoon, where police have declared a crime scene.
Firefighters, police and paramedics were called to a single-story house on Foote Street in Acacia Ridge at about 1:10pm, where they found the house engulfed by flames.
Four fire trucks were called to fight the blaze, which was under control just before 1:45pm, and extinguished roughly an hour later.
Paramedics said they treated a man in his 40s at the scene with minor injuries, but said he did not require transport.
Foote street was closed between Mortimer Road and Mulvey Street, with residents urged to stay indoors with their windows shut.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said there was significant structural damage to the home, and firefighters could not enter the property.
The department would hand the scene over to the police to investigate, they said.
