University of Colorado head football coach and former Dallas Cowboys star Deion Sanders has addressed the rumors of his potential interest in the Cowboys’ open head coaching role.
Cowboys Have Talked to Deion Sanders About Head Coach Vacancy
Sanders told ESPN that while he’s intrigued by the request, he’s also happy at Boulder.
“To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it’s intriguing,” Sanders told ESPN on Monday night. “I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up, and process it, and think about it, it’s intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community.”
Reports circulated on Monday evening that Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones reached out to Sanders regarding the team’s open head coaching spot.
The Cowboys and former head coach Mike McCarthy officially parted ways on Monday after five seasons together.
