Demi Moore and Billy Bob Thornton put on a handsy display at the season 2 premiere of Landman.
Moore, 62, and Thornton, 70, hit the red carpet at the Ted Mann Theater ahead of the Paramount+ drama’s season 2 screening on Thursday, October 30, where the costars recreated an iconic pose that Thornton did with Angelina Jolie during their marriage from 2000 to 2003.
Thornton, wearing jeans, a sleeveless tee and a trucker hat, stood behind Moore, who sported a tight denim dress, and wrapped his arms around her waist. Moore rested her hands on Thornton’s and smiled at the camera as he leaned his head toward hers. At one point, the Substance actress put her hands over her face, seemingly reacting to something Thornton said.
Thornton and Moore have a longtime friendship dating back to their 1993 film Indecent Proposal. In 2024, Thornton — who is now married to Connie Angland after tying the knot with the puppeteer in 2014 — gushed that Moore and her ex-husband Bruce Willis are “like family.”
“She’s always been a sweetheart,” Thornton told Fox News Digital of Moore. “She was so nice to me when I first met her, when I only had two scenes in a movie she was starring in, and she’s just as sweet today as she was then.”
After working with Moore on Indecent Proposal, Thornton starred in 1998’s Armageddon, 2001’s Bandits and 2006’s The Astronaut Farmer with Willis, 70. (Willis, who is currently battling frontotemporal dementia, was married to Moore from 1987 to 2000. The pair share daughters Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 31.)
“I’ve always been very close with Bruce,” Thornton added. “Bruce and I did three movies together … Demi used to bring the kids to visit the set all the time. So, I’ve known them like family for a long time … she’s awesome.”
Moore and Thornton reunited for Landman season 2, which was filmed from April to August. Despite their history together, Thornton said at the show’s FYC event in June that Moore “didn’t remember” him, according to People.
While Moore and Thornton have no romantic history, the Goliath star has been linked to several other women. He was first married to Melissa Lee Gatlin from 1978 to 1980, during which time the pair welcomed daughter Amanda, 46.
Thornton later tied the knot with Toni Lawrence in 1986. The pair separated in 1987 and got divorced in 1988. Following their split, he moved on with actress Cynda Williams. The exes were married from 1990 to 1992.
In 1993, Billy married Playboy model Pietra Dawn Cherniak, with whom he welcomed sons William, 32, and Harry, 30.
After dating Laura Dern from 1997 to 1999, Thornton tied the knot with Jolie, 50, in 2000. The exes later separated in 2002 and divorced in 2003.
“I blew it because I didn’t think I was good enough for her,” he said of his marriage to Jolie on Nightline in 2012. “She has one way she wanted to live her life and I had another way to live mine and I was just too insecure. I did feel like the Phantom of the Opera hiding in the catacombs. People have actually said that I didn’t deserve to be with her.”
Thornton met Angland, 61, in May 2003, and they welcomed daughter Bella, 21, in September 2004, shortly after they began dating. The couple quietly tied the knot 10 years later in October 2024.
