The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne is breaking down the origins of her new romance.

“I met someone and we went out on two dates, and then we went to get a manicure-pedicure,” Erika, 54, said on the Tuesday, July 29, episode of her and Teddi Mellencamp’s “Diamond in the Rough” podcast. “We were just simply walking in Koreatown, and [we were photographed together]. Obviously, we didn’t know.”

Erika was spotted holding hands with her new beau in photos published by Page Six on July 9.

“It was really nice, like, I feel comfortable holding this person’s hand, and he’s a nice man,” Erika said on her podcast. “I haven’t been seen with anybody in five years, so this is a really nice person, and I enjoyed my time with him. He doesn’t live here.”

Erika, who separated from estranged husband Tom Girardi in 2020, met John through fellow reality star Heidi Montag.

“I saw him on a friend of mine’s podcast because I watch everybody’s podcast late at night before I go to bed,” she said. “I thought, ‘Wow, that’s an interesting interview.’ Then, I saw him again on another and I thought, ‘God, that guy’s kind of interesting,’ and I saw him backstage with Heidi in London just randomly.”

She added, “It was random because [Heidi] went on, and then I went on after her. I thought, ‘That’s the guy from the podcast. I’m gonna walk up and say hello.’ I introduced myself, and I was, like, ‘Hey, my name is Erika, and I’ve seen you on a couple of podcasts. I’m a fan.’”

Erika further gushed that their nail salon date was a “nice private moment.”

“I was just trying to get a manicure, and I was just holding someone’s hand,” she said. “It felt really nice.”

While Erika and John’s connection is still in its early stages, the Bravo star previously told Us Weekly what she’s looking for in a partner.

“It would be nice to date and to do fun things,” she told Us exclusively in November 2024. “You’ve got to be intelligent, and you have to be able to have a conversation. I need a good conversation. I need to know that you are an intelligent human being [who] can have a back-and-forth conversation.”

Erika has also been open to the idea of her RHOBH costars — all of whom are single except for Kathy Hilton and Bozoma “Boz” Saint John — playing matchmaker.

“We should all try to set each other up, because it would be kind of funny, honestly,” she told Us in April. “I think it would be funny if we all took turns setting each other up.”

According to Erika, she was also manifesting “money, success and men — plural.”
