A Times Square shop is the only place in the Big Apple where you can blow your diet with a BLT inside of a donut.
The NY BLT donut sold at Japanese chain I’m donut ? includes a slab of smoked bacon, an organic egg, lettuce and tomato — stacked up inside a fluffy glazed donut, for $13.
The gut-busting creation has fans salivating on social media with Instagram comments like “The sweet donut with the salty bacon and egg hit the spot — savory and sweet in every bite.”
The NY BLT joins other equally over-the-top savory flavors such as Scrambled Eggs, Chicken Ginger Teriyaki and Sausage in a Blanket sold at the West 45th Street store.
“Egg donut sounds crazy but also looks like I need it,” another Instagrammer added.
The chain, founded by Chef Ryouta Hirako, opened in Times Square in April — its first and only US outpost — and it immediately went viral on TikTok with close to 400,00 views.
Hirako told The Post how he got the idea for the BLT donut.
“The inspiration started with my favorite combination: the sweet and savory mix. At I’m donut ?, having savory donuts is part of our unique culinary DNA, so I took that idea and gave it a New York twist—a fresh take on the iconic BLT, to create our NY BLT,” he said.
To celebrate National Donut Day on November 5th, Hirako is adding two items to his menu — Zaku-Zaku, which means “crunchy crunchy” in Japanese and features candied nuts over a dulce de leche-coated donut and Choco Shell, made of chocolate brioche dough in a chocolate shell and topped with cacao.
He’s also introducing a fall special, a Pumpkin Cheesecake brioche donut filled with pumpkin cream cheese, pumpkin pie spice and sprinkled with pumpkin seeds.
