FedEx is cutting jobs, closing facilities and pouring money into automation as it transforms its delivery empire.
The company is eliminating 173 positions across Southern California while shutting down facilities in Palm Springs, Victorville and San Diego.
The moves are part of FedEx’s massive “Network 2.0” overhaul, which is designed to combine its air and ground operations into a single logistics network and generate nearly $2 billion in annual savings by the end of 2027.
