The ex-wife of the crazed transgender dad who gunned down relatives at a high school hockey game in Rhode Island had divorced him years early because of his “narcissistic + personality disorder traits,” court documents reveal.

Robert Dorgan’s ex, Rhonda Dorgan, filed for divorce back in 2020, citing his unhinged personality and his “gender reassignment surgery,” according to filings obtained by WPRI.

She later amended the reasoning for their split, which was finalized in 2021, blaming it on “irreconcilable differences which have caused the immediate breakdown of the marriage.”

It wasn’t immediately clear if that ex-wife was one of the two victims Dorgan killed when he opened fire at the Pawtucket ice rink where his son was playing on Monday afternoon.

Officials said the gunman, who also went by Roberta Esposito, fatally shot one of his own sons and the boy’s mom, without identifying if that was Rhonda Dorgan or another ex.

Police haven’t yet released their names.

Investigators are still probing a motive for the bloodshed but court documents show that the 56-year-old father’s transgender identity appeared to be a source of multiple family court battles in the years prior.

In 2020, Dorgan showed up at the North Providence Police Department alleging that his father-in-law was trying to boot him from their home because he’d recently undergone gender-reassignment surgery.

Dorgan claimed that his wife’s dad had threatened to “have him murdered by an Asian street gang if he did not move out of the residence,” court filings show.

He alleged that his father-in-law had used a slur for transgender people to say no such individual was “going to stay in my house.”

Police believe Dorgan was intentionally targeting his own family when he opened fire in the stands — and then killed himself.

The shooting also left three people injured, cops said, adding they remained in a critical condition.

A woman spotted leaving the Pawtucket police station in the wake of the shooting identified herself as the gunman’s daughter, telling reporters he “has mental health issues” and was “very sick.”

“He shot my family and he’s dead now,” she said.
