According to a report from Culatholic, former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle did not make a scheduled appearance at a professional wrestling charity event organized by Global Wrestling Kingdom named ‘A New Kingdom Rises.’
The event was meant to raise money “in support of survivors of domestic abuse, and homeless veterans.”

“Sources close to the situation revealed to Cultaholic … that Riddle was booked for the GWK event through his manager several months ago,” Cultaholic director and editor-in-chief Ross Tweddell said, “but Riddle recently expressed concerns about his flight, claiming it was cheap and his unhappiness about being in a hotel room in Barnsley for two days.”
“After Riddle revealed his concerns, GWK tried to organize some pro wrestling seminars so he could make some extra money whilst in the United Kingdom,” producer Tom Campbell said. “But they were unable to finalize any events on such short notice.
“Matt Riddle didn’t cancel his booking but he never traveled to the United Kingdom, and a driver was left waiting several hours for Matt Riddle to arrive, according to our sources.”
“GWK then received a reply from Riddle noting that he’d accepted another booking, but would still potentially make the show,” Campbell continued. “Riddle did not open any of GWK’s future messages about his status for the event.”
Campbell went on to note that Riddle was seen at two other events during this time, including one at Boca Raton, FL, that he was not originally planned for.

In response, GWK had to give out refunds for scheduled meet-and-greets with Riddle and replaced him in his scheduled match against Simon Miller with Grado.
Additionally, Riddle has not returned the deposit paid to him by GWK at the time of writing.
Riddle is most well-known for his time at WWE, earning multiple championships during his five-year tenure. His most memorable moments came as part of the “RK-Bro” tag team alongside living legend Randy Orton.
Unfortunately, his time with the company was marred by multiple failed drug tests and controversial incidents that eventually led to his release.
With WWE, Riddle took home the WWE United States Championship once, the WWE Tag Team Championship twice with Orton, and the NXT Tag Team Championship with Pete Dunne.
