A former WWE champion has found himself in another minor controversy, this time regarding a fan signing. However, the promoter of the event has stepped in to clarify the situation.
Goldberg competed in his final match in July when he challenged Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. “The Ring General” won that match, bringing the WCW legend’s career to an end.
After the match, Goldberg’s farewell address was cut short by WWE as the show came to an abrupt end. Following his retirement, he spoke about his unhappiness with how his retirement was treated, leading to criticism from some quarters.
Now, he’s been implicated in another controversy as K&S WrestleFest took to social media to claim that Goldberg did not participate in a planned private signing. “Unfortunately Goldberg PRIVATE Signing did not happen,” the post read.
K&S WrestleFest alleged they had their items ready as Goldberg was doing a private signing for another vendor. “After he was done, he got up and said he was done…He walked out past our stuff, and left..We are all super disappointed, and frustrated…My apologies to all…”
However, there are two sides to every story. Now, Big Event EXS promoter Tom Unger, who was the person who had booked Goldberg for the other signing, has explained the situation.

“No he wasn’t,” Unger wrote in response, clarifying that Goldberg’s signing for his customers was the priority. “He signed for the fans for 5hrs straight..Ken wasn’t guaranteed anything.”
“I told him if we had time we would get your items done,” Unger continued. “He shouldn’t be posting this all over like the victim.”
Unger finished his clarification by putting the blame on K&S for making promises they couldn’t keep. “This was my deal and my customers come first..Shouldn’t take mail order from all you not knowing if it was going to get done.”
K&S WrestleFest’s original statement has now been deleted. The WWE Hall of Famer has maintained his silence on the situation.
While Goldberg navigates his post-retirement appearances, the man who retired him, Gunther, is set for his own return to WWE programming tonight. “The Ring General” will be in action at Madison Square Garden on “Raw” for the “Last Time Is Now” tournament. His opponent for the first-round match is “NXT’s” Je’Von Evans, as Gunther begins his quest to be John Cena’s final opponent.
