Joan Vassos calmed the internet’s worries about why fiancé Chock Chapple is not with her during her European vacation.

“Hi everybody! I’ve been doing some really fun posts ‘cause I’m on a cruise in the Mediterranean with my friend Nancy,” the Golden Bachelorette, 62, said in an Instagram video on Wednesday August 6. “We are sitting at a lounge right now waiting to get our drinks and I have been reading through some of the comments and it seems like a lot of you are worried that Chock isn’t here.”

She continued: “I just want to make sure everybody knows that Chock isn’t here ‘cause he was on a graduation trip with his son. He bought him a nice trip for graduation so he was on that.”

Vassos added that she was “lucky enough” to have Nancy by her side for the getaway as Chapple, 61, was “unavailable” during this time due to his prior arrangement.

“It’s not ‘cause Chock and I aren’t together. We are. I actually really miss him and I can’t wait to see him,” she confessed. “In about 10 days, we’re going to be together. We already have that flight booked and we’re ready to be together.”

Vassos reiterated that she and Chapple are doing “great.”

“I miss him and I love him and we are still together,” she said. “So thanks for your concern, I really appreciate it.”

Chapple, for his part, took to the comments section to offer more details about his adventure with his son, Tyler.

“Girls trip- I support this 1000%!!!” he replied. “My son, Tyler and I had a blast in Africa. We had this trip planned for 4 years and were delayed due to Covid and his college graduation last year.”

Chapple added that planning the trip was more difficult than expected due to his and Tyler’s busy schedules, as his son got a job “right after school” and he filmed The Golden Bachelorette last year.

“Scheduling was a slight challenge due to Joan’s show last year and a few commitments on my end. Have fun ladies and see you next week- love ya,” he concluded.

Vassos and Chapple met and fell in love during the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelorette. The couple got engaged during the finale, which aired in November 2024.

Earlier this year, Vassos exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about her life with Chapple post-show and why they’re not in a rush to walk down the aisle.

“Chock and I are in that part of it. It’s been great every second of it and it’s, maybe, solidified our relationship more and more and made that leap of faith seem like we absolutely did the right thing. We will get married, but we are not ready to plan a wedding out,” she told Us in April. “I’m meeting his friends, he’s meeting my friends. We’re spending time getting to know each other even more. There’s no rush. I don’t have a biological clock. I’m over that. I have four kids. It does [add] to the whole element of it. We’re not dying to build a house together. We both have homes. We have all those things that we’re not worried about doing. We’re just having fun being together. I want to say, like, ‘Let us be together! Let’s just have fun and date!’ We will get married, I just don’t know when.”
