Gordon Ramsay is celebrating his New Year’s Eve by sharing an update on his healing process, following his cycling accident back in June.
The Hell’s Kitchen star, 58, posted a video to Instagram on Monday, December 30, which featured clips of him throughout 2024.
Along with sweet snippets of Ramsay with Selena Gomez, Guy Fieri, and more famous faces, the chef also included a brief moment to show where he was bruised on the side of his body.
“What an incredible 2024! Have a Happy New Year (and yes the bruise has healed) Gx,” Ramsay captioned the video.
Fans were glad to see he was doing better, with one commenting, “What a year Chef Ramsay! I’m so happy the bruise healed also. 🙏🏽❤️✨,” and another adding, “That bruise still kills me 😅 glad it’s healed!”
Ramsay’s cycling incident occurred in Connecticut, with the Masterchef host telling Men’s Health in September that he hit a “crater-like pothole” while cycling and was ejected from his bike. He was then taken to the hospital.
While Ramsay did not have any broken bones, he did have blurred vision, was bleeding, had a significant bruise, and had to undergo a recovery process.
“I couldn’t even put my f—king socks and pants on,” Ramsay told the outlet, pointing out his assistant had to help him. “Justin [Mandel], he used to dress me in the morning. I felt like a f—king 95-year-old man.”
Ramsay also updated fans after the incident through an Instagram post from June 15. “I’m doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato,” he wrote.
“I’m thankful for all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me and checked me out, but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life,” Ramsay added.
