Lisa Vanderpump has a message for Brittany Cartwright, telling Us Weekly exclusively that the phone works both ways following The Valley star’s remarks that her former boss hadn’t checked on her amid her divorce from Jax Taylor.
“I saw Brittany the other day, and she said she never hears from me, but I have how many hundreds of people working for me? I’m traveling between Vegas, here [Los Angeles], Arizona, London, and this and that, and the other. Call me. I’m always here,” Vanderpump, 65, told Us while promoting Vanderpump Rules season 12 at her West Hollywood restaurant SUR on Thursday, November 21.
The twosome saw each other at BravoCon earlier this month — but the run-in was before LVP saw Cartwright’s latest press remarks. “I greeted her like I always do. But I hadn’t heard that she said something nasty about me, so maybe she said it just before she met me. So, there you go,” Vanderpump told Us. “I greeted her as I always do. ‘How are you?’ I’m always happy to see them. I didn’t know she’d been saying negative stuff. It’s a shame, really, it’s a shame.”
During the three-day event, Cartwright, 36, told Decider, “[Lisa] hasn’t checked on me since my divorce, since my son’s autism diagnosis, since anything. So I haven’t heard from her in ages.”
Cartwright married Taylor, 46, Vanderpump Rules’ original bad boy bartender, in 2019. Their wedding, which aired on Bravo, took place at The Kentucky Castle and was officiated by Lance Bass.
Cartwright filed for divorce on August 27, 2024, citing irreconcilable differences. The exes share one child, son Cruz, 4, whom she has full custody of. He was diagnosed with autism in 2024.
In 2020, Taylor and Cartwright announced their exit from Vanderpump Rules. They joined Bravo’s spinoff The Valley for its debut season in 2024. After two successful seasons, Taylor revealed he would not be back following his recovery from substance abuse.
But Vanderpump holds no ill will for any of her former SUR staff, telling Us that she’s happy ex-Pump Rules stars Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz have joined The Valley full-time for its upcoming third season.
“I think it’s great. I mean, they’re great reality stars, and they’re very honest,” she shared. “I think Lala has done a fantastic job as a mother. She’s really, really, wonderful, and she wasn’t dealt the best hand, for sure. Schwartzy, I just love Schwartzy. I think most people do. I mean, listen, you start off by loving all of them, really. And then, you know, sometimes things get more complicated, but I’ve always been pretty honest about how I feel.”
While she’ll always hold a special place in her heart for the original Vanderpump Rules stars, the entrepreneurial queen has the new cast members on her brain.
After 11 successful seasons and the aftermath of Tom Sandoval’s explosive affair with Raquel Leviss behind Ariana Madix’s back (dubbed Scandoval), Bravo announced the beloved reality TV series would be getting a facelift.
The upcoming season 12 features current SUR staffers Venus Binkley, Jason Cohen, Shayne Davis, Chris Hahn, Angelica Jensen, Marcus Johnson, Audrey Lingle, Natalie Maguire, Demy Selem, and Kim Suarez, and promises to be just as dramatic — if not more — than the original.
“They’re lovely, they’re excited, they’re hungry, they’re working here,” Vanderpump told Us of the new cast. “It’s about the restaurant business, and it’s about their lives and how they work together, and I think that’s a great nucleus to have. So they’re there with each other because they have to be, and that drives the story as well.”
Vanderpump also acknowledged that she’s heard the negative remarks from some of her former colleagues, but there are three in particular who have shown their support for the reboot.
“Lala said she’s going to be supportive. Stassi [Schroeder Clark], who I work with now on Vanderpump Villa, she can’t wait to watch it. Schwartz is, but the rest no,” she revealed. “I’ve heard some negative things, but I think one of the things about being on reality television for years, you kind of tune out some of the negative or nasty things they say.”
Vanderpump Rules season 12 airs on December 2 at 9 p.m. on Bravo, the next day on Peacock.
