A major US ally has launched an investigation into whether Jeffrey Epstein was a Russian spy collecting compromising material on elite global figures — just days after the release of thousands of messages that tied the late pedophile financier to Vladimir Putin.

Polish authorities will dig into possible links between the sex offender and Russian intelligence after the US Justice Department’s latest dump of Epstein files included multiple mentions of Putin and Moscow.

“More and more leads, more and more information, and more and more commentary in the global press all relate to the suspicion that this unprecedented pedophilia scandal was co-organized by Russian intelligence services,” Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Tuesday during a government meeting.

“I don’t need to tell you how serious the increasingly likely possibility that Russian intelligence services co-organized this operation is for the security of the Polish state,” he continued.

“This can only mean that they also possess compromising materials against many leaders still active today.”

The Polish leader said authorities will establish a team to investigate any potential fallout in Poland from Epstein’s crimes — including what he suggested was possible involvement by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).

News of the probe came after emails were uncovered in the latest caches of documents released late last week that showed unnamed sources discussing meetings between Epstein and the Russian dictator.

Putin’s name came up nearly 1,000 times in the batch of Epstein files, while there was almost 10,000 references to Moscow.

In one email, dated Sept. 11, 2011, an anonymous messenger discussed plans for an “appointment with Putin” on Epstein’s next trip to Russia.

“Spoke with Igor. He said last time you were in Palm Beach, you told him you had an appointment with Putin on Sept 16 and that he could go ahead and book his ticket to Russia to arrive a few days before you,” the email stated.

In May 2013, Epstein wrote an email to Council of Europe secretary general Thorbjorn Jagland saying that he wanted to help Putin and Russia “reinvent the financial system.”

And another note fired off in 2014 suggested another potential meeting between Putin and Epstein.

The trove of emails, as well as prior claims that Epstein was a Russian spy, triggered widespread speculation about whether the disgraced Wall Street figure may have trafficked girls from Russia in a state-backed effort to run the world’s “largest honeytrap” to ensnare the rich and the powerful.

Neither the Russian Embassy in Warsaw or Russia’s foreign ministry have commented on the Polish probe.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova had said in December that the Epstein files showed the hypocrisy of Western elites.

“Here, as I understood, were all the Western ‘lecturers on life’ who looked down on Russia and who lectured us about ‘democracy and human rights’ in interesting poses with equally interesting leisure partners,” she said in a statement.
