A man has been shot dead and another man wounded in an early morning attack at a western Sydney unit.
Emergency services were called to reports of a shooting at a unit complex on Shale Street in Lidcombe about 4am on Monday.
A 38-year-old man died in hospital after being treated for gunshot wounds by paramedics.
A second man was also assaulted at the scene and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The shooting took place on a high-density residential street bordering Accor Stadium.
A crime scene has been declared and police are investigating the incident, appealing for information from the public.
The latest Sydney shooting comes after two men were taken to hospital after a brawl ended in gunfire at Chester Hill on Thursday night.
