The Los Angeles Clippers appear to be back to their old ways.
The Clippers are proving to be one of the worst teams in the league, currently sitting with a 6-18 record. Los Angeles is on pace for one of their worst seasons since the 2010-11 season (the last time they were under .500), and it doesn’t help that their pick will go directly to the best team in the league, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
There’s no turning back for the Clippers. Rather than trying to salvage the season, many believe they should embrace a sell-off and steer fully into the skid.
Los Angeles seems like a lost cause, and because of that, Michael Pina of The Ringer suggests that they deal the superstar forward, Kawhi Leonard.

At 34, Leonard still has some gas left, though injuries remain a concern for the two-time NBA champion. With his time in Los Angeles seemingly nearing an end, Pina suggested a trade that would send the six-time All-Star to the Chicago Bulls.
“Another option to consider: Leonard and Dunn to Chicago for Patrick Williams, Kevin Huerter, Coby White, and two unprotected first-round picks. If the Bulls are looking for their own Pascal Siakam, here he is! The list of contenders who have enough picks and young talent to strike a deal is pretty small.”

It’s evident that the Clippers could benefit from possessing first-round picks, as they do not control many of their picks until 2030. Given how things stand for Los Angeles, it makes rebuilding a challenge.
The Clippers are in a difficult position, lacking control of their own future first-round picks, with many owed to other teams like the Thunder, making them asset-poor. Still, they have pieces on their team who they could get value for, Leonard being one of them.
The two-time Finals MVP has played in 14 games thus far, but is still his elite self when he is on the court. Thus far, he is averaging 25.4 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, while shooting 49.2 percent from the field and 39 percent from three in 31.7 minutes of action.
