Is it pink or purple? Melania Trump’s belted dress has the internet doing a double take.

The first lady, 55, attended a state banquet hosted by the British royal family at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, September 17, wearing a Carolina Herrera design that has since sparked an online debate.

At first glance, her off-the-shoulder, floor-length dress appears to be a bright canary yellow color with a lavender belt at the center. However, depending on the lighting in the photos, other social media users swore it appeared to be a soft yellow hue with a baby pink belt.

Melania completed her look with sparkling emerald earrings for an additional pop of color, beaming while posing for photos alongside husband President Donald Trump.

The event, which called for a white-tie dress code, was honoring Trump, 79, and the first lady during their state visit to the U.K.

“She did look stunning but the yellow and pink together didn’t work,” one person remarked, while another commented that its colors were better suited for an Easter event. “Melania wears a purple belt, green earrings and a gold dress,” a third social media user wrote.

A source close to Melania told the Daily Mail that her dress was actually buttercream yellow with an “Easter purple” belt.

It was a déjà vu fashion moment for people who remembered the 2015 debate about whether a viral dress making its rounds on Tumblr was black and blue or white and gold.

In honor of the momentous occasion, Princess Kate Middleton also dressed to impress, wearing a couture silk crepe gown by British designer Phillipa Lepley paired with a hand-embroidered gold Chantilly lace evening coat, in addition to the late Queen Elizabeth II’s earrings and the sparkling Lover’s Knot Tiara.

She donned an elegant blue sash and the iconic Royal Family Order of King Charles III, Royal Family Order of Elizabeth II as well as the Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order star.

Prince William, for his appearance, wore the Most Noble Order of the Garter Sash with the Lesser George, plus the Order of the Bath and Gold, Diamond and Platinum Coronation emblems.
