Miley Cyrus is pulling back the curtain on her early love life — which included fellow Disney star Dylan Sprouse.

“Dylan Sprouse was my boyfriend,” Cyrus, 33, said during an anniversary special marking 20 years since the premiere of Hannah Montana, which was released on Hulu and Disney+ Tuesday, March 24. “I think he was the cutest.”

While reacting to past rumors that she and Sprouse, also 33, were a couple, Cyrus added, “It’s true, confirmed.”

Cyrus went on to note that she would spend time with both Dylan and his twin brother, Cole Sprouse.

“Dylan was my crush,” she continued. “Their dad would take us to sushi. I was into the whole culture, and it was a two-for-one. Like, bring the brother. Hello!”

Dylan and Cole starred on Disney’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, which aired during Hannah Montana’s run on the network from 2006 to 2011.

Ahead of the anniversary special airing, Cyrus reunited with former Hannah Montana costars Shanica Knowles (Amber Addison), Anna Maria Perez de Tagle (Ashley Dewitt), Cody Linley (Jake Ryan), Jason Earles (Jackson Stewart) and Moisés Arias (Rico Suave) at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, March 23. Emily Osment, for her part, shared that she was unable to take part in the special and red carpet event because of filming the CBS sitcom Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

Miley was also joined by her fiancé, Maxx Morando, with family members including mom Tish Cyrus, Tish’s husband, Dominic Purcell, and sister Brandi Cyrus all being spotted on the red carpet. (Us Weekly confirmed in December 2025 that Miley and Morando are engaged after they sparked rumors at the Avatar: Fire And Ash premiere.)

Earlier this month, Miley revealed that she had been thinking about the Hannah Montana anniversary special since last year.

“I learned this terrible habit — but I actually think it was good advice — from [godmother] Dolly [Parton],” she told Variety at the time. “She told me that if you want something to happen, promote it before it exists. Then no one can say no.  So I just started promoting a Hannah Montana 20th-anniversary special that literally did not exist.”

“I think even Disney  sometimes forgets the connection between me and Hannah,” she continued. “It’s not just a TV show. I see daily how important Hannah is to people. When I travel, people bring me Hannah merch. They ask, ‘Are you ever going to do another season?’”

The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special is out now.
