Many dog owners love coming home to an excitable pup waiting to greet them with their tail wagging incessantly. That wasn’t the case for one dachshund owner, however, who returned to find nothing but chaos in store for them.
Internet users have been left in hysterics after a video was shared on TikTok (@sigtheween) showing the carnage that unfolded when the miniature dachshund was left alone. The footage shows the moment the dog’s owner returned home and walked upstairs to find out exactly what the dog, named Siggy, had been up to all day.
Footage shows the owner, from Nevada, climbing the stairs, which were covered in dirt and grass, before finding Siggy waiting proudly at the top. He could be seen lying on his back on a black plastic tray, while dirt and turf lay scattered on the carpet around him. Needless to say, Siggy looked incredibly pleased with the masterpiece he’d created, even if his owner wasn’t all that pleased.
Social media users can’t get enough of the dachshund’s chaotic antics, and the video has gone viral with over 567,200 views and more than 94,200 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
Newsweek has contacted @sigtheween via TikTok for comment. We could not verify the details of the video.

Meanwhile, the dachshund showed no signs of remorse or guilt. Siggy could be seen lying amongst all the mess and wagging his tail, as though waiting for his owner to dutifully give him belly rubs.
According to the American Kennel Club, dachshunds are known for being curious, friendly, and spunky, traits that stem from their origins as independent hunting dogs bred to track prey underground. Their natural boldness and confidence often translate into mischievous behaviors if they aren’t given consistent training or enough mental stimulation.
PetMD further notes that dachshunds can be willful, headstrong, playful, and mischievous, characteristics that can make them challenging to train and prone to getting into trouble when left unsupervised. Their independence, combined with high energy and intelligence, means they may engage in digging or destructive behaviors—especially if bored or under stimulated. These tendencies align perfectly with Siggy’s enthusiastic gardening project scattered across the staircase.
In the days since the TikTok video went viral, many internet users rushed to the comments to defend the mischievous dachshund, while others lauded him for looking so confident. This has led to more than 360 comments on the TikTok post so far.
One comment reads: “It may not be fun, but it’s definitely funny.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “God forbid the wee guy wants to take up gardening as a hobby! Horticultural king.”
Another person replied: “he’s so proud of his masterpiece.”
