Nick Cannon is setting the record straight on one rumor surrounding his kids’ six moms.
“Sometimes I say things, and they come off the wrong way. But I’ll state it like this,” Cannon, 45, exclusively shared in his Us cover story ahead of his upcoming Wild ‘N Out Tour. “I don’t have favorites, but if I had to say the person who probably understands me the most would be Bre [Tiesi]. There’s a safe haven there. We call each other twin flames, because she accepts all of my s***, and I accept everything that she is.”
Tiesi, 35 — who shares son Legendary, 4, with Cannon — recently praised the comedian and actor on Father’s Day by calling him, “The best man, partner and most importantly father.”
According to Cannon, the pair “just really get along.”
“There becomes a closeness and a sense of understanding that I probably don’t have with anybody else,” Cannon continued when describing his bond with the Selling Sunset star. “We move like that, and she’s, like, a ride or die. If you about to go into a gunfight, that’s who you want to have with you.”
Cannon also shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, 15, with ex-wife Mariah Carey; sons Golden, 9, and Rise, 4, and daughter Powerful, 5, with Brittany Bell; twin boys Zion and Zillion, 5, and daughter Beautiful, 3, with Abby De La Rosa; and daughter Onyx, 4, with LaNisha Cole. He also has daughter Halo, 3, and son Zen, who passed away in 2021, with Alyssa Scott.
While Cannon doesn’t have anything bad to say about his children’s other parents, he praised Tiesi for being “super protective.”
“She don’t play about me,” he explained. “She’s never like, sway. She’s always been 10 toes down, and you can’t buy that type of love and loyalty. I’m super grateful for it. … As much as I say I don’t have a favorite, she definitely holds a special place in my heart.”
Despite all of his relationships, Cannon has only held the title of husband once. He was married from 2008 to 2016 to Carey, 57, and things between the pair remain “amicable” following their divorce.
When asked if he would ever get hitched again, The Masked Singer host said it likely isn’t in the cards for him.
“I don’t like the government in my love life,” he said. “I like to be fluid and be able to move. The only government I respect and honor is the IRS. I’ll sign whatever papers they want me to sign. I just think that the institution of marriage should be respected and have many covenants, but I couldn’t see myself going through the legal paperwork again. Once you’ve been in it and then trying to get out of it, you’re like, ‘Yeah, I’m never doing this.’”
