A teenage boy has died and another has been taken to hospital in a critical condition following a jet ski crash on the Georges River in Sydney’s south.
Emergency crews were called to the Sylvania side of Tom Uglys Bridge about 6.10pm on Tuesday after reports that a person was floating below the bridge in a life jacket following a suspected jet ski crash.

“Officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command were told a jet ski had possibly crashed, leaving persons in the water,” NSW Police said in a statement.
Medical crews were unable to revive a 15-year-old boy who was found deceased in the water.
A doctor, intensive care and critical care paramedics were deployed to treat a 14-year-old boy whose arm was severed before transporting him to Sydney Children’s Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash and a crime scene has been established.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
