Move over Romeo and Juliet because hearts have well and truly been melted by the adorable moment a dachshund appeared to develop his first crush—and, of course, it had to be another dachshund.

The pup, named Ollie, was enjoying a trip to Huntington Beach in California when his owner captured the precious moment when he “fell in love” with another dog. His owner couldn’t resist capturing a video of the romantic occasion, and the footage was shared on TikTok (@berlin.bea).

During the video, Ollie can be seen running around the sandy beach before spotting another dachshund. They may have been total strangers, but their bond was undeniable from the beginning as they were instantly drawn to each other and started playing and chasing each other around.

Ollie’s owner couldn’t get enough of the bond they formed, even adding that it was the dog’s “first crush.”

The sweet video has touched plenty of hearts since it was shared online. In just a matter of days, the TikTok post has gone viral with over 3.8 million views and more than 752,300 likes at the time of writing.

Newsweek has contacted @berlin.bea via Instagram for comment. We could not verify the details of the video.

Unfortunately, as is often said, all good things must come to an end. Ollie’s playdate couldn’t last forever, and the dogs eventually had to part ways. Writing on TikTok, his owner joked, “after all that, we didn’t even get her name.”

However, since the clip of their first date went viral on TikTok, it has attracted the attention of many, including the other dog’s owner. In a TikTok comment, they said that the dog’s name is Mazzy and she “sends her love to Ollie.”

The two canines certainly made the most of their time together during that first date. The TikTok video begins by showing the sun gradually setting in the distance, but by the time the dogs were ready to leave, the night had firmly set in.

There is no denying that social media users are obsessed with Ollie and Mazzy’s sunset love affair, as many hailed their adorable interaction as the epitome of romance. This has led to more than 2,800 comments on the viral TikTok post already.

One comment reads: “Love at first wag.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “I love that all dachshunds are immediately besties the second they see eye to eye, omg [oh my God].”

A third person replied: “They need to make a Disney movie about two weenies falling in love by the ocean during sunset.”

One commenter joked: “You go girl! Making the first move, like a queen!”
