A dog owner couldn’t help but fear how her puppy would cope during his first time at day care—but judging by the adorable photos, she really had nothing to worry about.

Esther Choi started to send her miniature bull terrier puppy, named Clyde, to day care in July. It was a nerve-wracking time for Choi, 27, who told Newsweek that she and her partner, Steven, “felt like first-time parents” sending their child to school.

They weren’t certain how Clyde would manage when surrounded by so many other dogs, especially as he’s a lot smaller than the breed standard.

“Clyde was the runt of his litter and always 10 to 15 pounds smaller than his siblings,” Choi, of Vancouver, Canada said. “We were worried he might get overpowered or overwhelmed by all the bigger dogs.”

Fortunately for Choi, she is able to see photos of her sweet pup whenever he goes to day care. As soon as she saw the pictures from his very first day, all fears and nerves quickly dissipated because it was clear Clyde was getting along just fine.

Indeed, Clyde, 11 months, has even made a friend for life at day care in the shape of Franklin the boxer dog. The pictures show the inseparable duo standing side by side, playing together, and chasing each other.

“We thought they were so cute and they both looked so happy. We were relieved that he made a friend. When we picked him up from daycare, the staff told us that he and Franklin were glued to each other the whole time,” Choi said.

Now, Clyde goes to day care once or twice a week, and he always loves reuniting with Franklin.

Choi has learned that they walk around the facility in tandem and chase after each other regularly. It’s clear that Franklin has helped Clyde settle into day care, as Choi jokes that they’re both “goofy dogs” drawn to each other.

After seeing the sweet pictures that were captured of the duo, Choi couldn’t resist sharing them on Clyde’s dedicated social media accounts (@stinky.clyde on TikTok and Instagram). Internet users can’t get enough of the undisputable best friends, leading to more than 2.4 million views and over 466,500 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.

The online response is beyond anything Choi anticipated, as she told Newsweek that “everyone seems to really love Clyde.” She’s so delighted that her sweet pup could bring so much joy to people across the internet.

“We are really surprised but also very grateful for the love he’s been receiving. Lots of people have shared their pets with us too, which has been really fun to see. We want to say thank you to all of Clyde’s new friends, and a boop on the nose for all the good doggies and kitties out there,” Choi continued.

In just a matter of days, the TikTok post showing Clyde’s new best friend has amassed over 1,200 comments already.

One comment reads: “no thoughts, they just know they’re besties.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “Omg why do boxers and bull terriers love each other so much!”

While another person replied: “Its giving Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart.”
