The strong start to the 2025 season for the Green Bay Packers came to a screeching halt in their Week 3 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, as they lost to a game-winning field goal.
After the game, Parsons owned up to several mistakes he made that played a part in the shocking loss for the Packers.
There was a real argument that the Packers came into Week 3 as the most complete team in all of football on paper. For most of the game, that seemed true.
The Packers looked as though they would go 3-0, as they held the Browns’ offense scoreless throughout the first three quarters.
The fourth quarter painted a very different picture, as the Packers would allow 13 unanswered points, resulting in a 13-10 victory for the Browns. Browns rookie kicker Andre Szmyt secured the win with a 55-yard field goal.

While the Packers’ defense was largely solid throughout much of the game, there were some key mistakes that contributed to the Browns getting into field goal range at the end of the fourth quarter.
In particular, an offside penalty called on Parsons was one of those mistakes. The play was during the Browns’ final possession of the game, which ended up resulting in the Browns getting over midfield and helping set up Szmyt’s game-winning kick.
After the game, Parsons spoke candidly about his costly mistake, saying that the two offside penalties coming from him are “unacceptable”, apologizing for his mistakes in the game.
“Two offsides is unacceptable for myself,” said Parsons via Packers beat reporter Ryan Wood. “Just things we shouldn’t be doing, I shouldn’t be doing, it’s unacceptable. I fully apologize for my actions.”
Micah Parsons drew holding penalty, had 6 pressures (unofficial), including 2 QB hits. He also had 2 penalties.

The Packers clearly had far more issues in the game than just Parsons’ mistakes. Notably, the Packers offense put up just 230 yards of offense and had several costly mistakes of their own.
This included an interception from Jordan Love that set up a game-tying touchdown for the Browns, with just over three minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Regardless of who is truly to blame, Parsons clearly expects better from himself. The Packers will look to rebound from this ugly Week 3 loss.
