Police are appealing for help finding a 73-year-old man last seen at Burns Beach late on Tuesday evening, stating that they hold serious concerns for his welfare.

Brian Thomas Fay was last seen near the car park on Ocean Parade on Tuesday evening, having arrived in a silver Great Wall SUV. He was reported missing about 9.45pm that night.

On Wednesday, Inspector Luke Collins from Joondalup police said resources including water police, PolAir, drones and the SES were being utilised to try and find him.

“We’ve been searching the water and the scrub land,” he said.

“The family are obviously distressed, like any of us would be if one of our family members went missing, and that’s why one we’re calling out for the public for any information that we can to help us track his movements before and after he got down to Burns Beach.

“We really want to find Brian for the family. We want to get a really good outcome for them, and that’s why we’re throwing as many resources as we can to try and find him.”

Fay’s car is still at the Ocean Parade car park, Collins said.

“If you wanted conditions to search for somebody, either on land or water, today is perfect conditions so that’s why we’re pushing so many resources that we are towards locating Brian and trying to find him.
