Earlier this month, the Kansas City Chiefs traded All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for four draft picks, including the No. 29 overall pick in April’s 2026 NFL Draft. Almost immediately afterward, the Rams made McDuffie the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history with a reported four-year, $124 million extension.
McDuffie, 25, is from the Los Angeles area, and he commemorated his return home by getting a huge chunk of his body covered in tattoos.
The tattoo artist Lakimii posted an Instagram Reel showing the intense process McDuffie underwent to get a sleeve across his chest and arm, including going under anesthesia for the hours-long session. “Welcome to LA!” Lakimii captioned the post.
The video shows some of the tattoo pieces McDuffie inked.
The two-time Super Bowl champion got “LVII” and “LVIII” with the Lombardi Trophy in between to signify the back-to-back Super Bowl championships McDuffie won with the Chiefs in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He got “Stay Patient” surrounded by clouds on his bicep and an elaborate design involving chains across his chest. McDuffie now also has two knight-like figures on his arm, each surrounded by angel wings and holding swords.
The Chiefs selected McDuffie out of Washington with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Chiefs’ 2022 draft class was “a big reason why” the franchise solidified itself as an NFL dynasty, according to Chiefs general manager Brett Veach.
Last season, Kansas City finished 6-11 — the team’s first losing record since 2012 — and it marked the first time in McDufife’s young career that his season did not end in the Super Bowl. With his move to the Rams, he has great odds to add “LXI” to his masterpiece, if he can find room. The Rams are the odds-on favorite to win Super Bowl LXI next season.
