A newly unearthed video from 2006 shows President Trump and first lady Melania sharing an affectionate moment in a clip on “The Apprentice” — with the real estate mogul even planting a tender smooch on the cheek of the couple’s son, Barron, who was just an infant at the time.
The vintage clip — which aired before the opening credits of a season premiere for the show — starts with Trump seated in a white Rolls Royce Corniche convertible in the driveway of a stately, oceanside estate.
As he emerges from the vehicle — wearing dark-colored, gold-accented shades — Melania, wearing an elegant pink blouse and matching silk head scarf, descends a set of stairs cradling a blanket-wrapped baby Barron in her arms, who appears no more than a few months old.
“Daddy’s coming home! Say ‘hi, daddy!’” Melania coos as the Trump approaches his family, greeting his wife with an affectionate “hi, honey.”
“Hello, honey, welcome home,” the first lady warmly welcomes him as he leans in for a kiss on the lips, before leaning over to kiss the couple’s only child.
The camera then cuts to the couple walking and talking before they stop so the future president could address the camera.
“After a 14-week job interview, only one candidate will remain. Who will succeed? Who will fail? And who will be The Apprentice?” he says as the music swells and the clip ends.
Barron Trump, now 18, has since distinguished himself as a standout star of the Trump family during the 2024 presidential race.
The 6-foot 7-inch NYU freshman is tough to miss in a crowd, and was instrumental in helping his father reach the coveted under-30 demographic by advising him which popular podcasts to appear on during the campaign.
The Trump scion now has his sights set on continuing his father’s real estate legacy, recently incorporating his business, Trump, Fulcher & Roxburgh Capital Inc., last July in Wyoming.
