After Kody traveled to all his ex-wives’ homes for an apology tour, he realized he hadn’t said “sorry” to Robyn for all she’d been through during his respective breakups.
“The only thing that I’ve kind of pulled away from is when you’re emotionally unsafe,” Robyn confessed during a season 20 episode, which aired in January. “That’s it.”
Kody, for his part, acknowledged that he needed to stop with the “self deprecation,” which Robyn agreed with.
“Thanks for being loyal,” Kody told his spouse, getting emotional. “Well, you deserve it. You’ve earned it from me, honey. I’m right here,” Robyn reassured Kody.
Kody confessed, “It hasn’t been very fair. I haven’t been very fair with you. I’ve been apologizing to everybody. In spite of all how brutal they were. I was apologizing to them.”
He took a minute before telling Robyn, “You were never brutal. You’re never unkind. You’re never disloyal. I’ve been apologizing to everybody. I think I owe you an apology most of all.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Kody told the cameras that he and Robyn were “fighting for our marriage and our life together” after going through “four years or more of breakup with the family.”
The couple vowed to keep trying and put their relationship first. “I apologize for not trusting you, but you have my trust,” Kody said. Robyn replied, “You have mine.”
