Taylor Swift fans have claimed to have been able to lip-read what the singer and Travis Kelce said to each other after the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills Sunday night.
The Chiefs have made their way to the Super Bowl thanks to their 32-29 win at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. In the moments after the AFC Championship win, the couple celebrated with a kiss on the field as confetti fell around them.
Newsweek emailed spokespeople for Swift and Kelce for comment on Monday outside of normal business hours.
Lip readers have deemed that Kelce told Swift, “I love you so much,” to which they believe Swift responded: “I love you. I’m so proud of you.”
X (formerly Twitter) user @TayvisHaze shared a video of the exchange with the caption: “Travis: ‘i love you so much’ Taylor: ‘i love you. I’m so proud of you.'”
“Love them both so much, this is everything,” one person commented, while another added: “omg [oh my God] sobbing, he is so in his feels.”
User @nessianxx also shared a clip of the exchange, writing: “THE ‘I LOVE YOU’ *KISS* AND ‘I’M SO PROUD OF YOU’ IM GONNA KMS [kill myself].”
The sweet moment between the loved-up couple came moments after Kelce spoke to the crowd, leading them in a sing-along of “Get Down Tonight” by KC and The Sunshine Band as Swift looked on, laughing and clapping.
Eventually, footage emerged of Kelce dancing in the locker room with his teammates in celebration of the big win. While this was happening, Swift was posing for photos with Macie Bozeman, the wife of linebacker Swayze Bozeman, and Layla Murray, who is dating punter Matt Araiza.
This isn’t the only game that Swift has attended recently; on January 18, the “Bad Blood” singer was in the crowd at the Chiefs’ divisional round playoff game against the Houston Texans.
The TV broadcast cut between images of Kelce standing with his teammates on the field and Swift in a private VIP suite with her parents, Andrea and Scott Swift, as they sang along to the anthem. The series of cutaway shots between Swift and Kelce were described as something from a romantic comedy.
A recording of the moment circulated on X, and one Swift fan went viral after sharing their thoughts on the clip.
“This looks like the beginning of a romcom,” user @flowersshaze wrote in a post that has received more than 300,000 views.
The Super Bowl LIX is scheduled to kick off at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9. The Chiefs—who won the Super Bowl in 2024 against the San Francisco 49ers—will play against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar is expected to perform the halftime show and be joined onstage by SZA.
Swift and Kelce’s relationship has captured the world’s attention ever since they started dating in September 2023, following the tight end’s attempt to give a friendship bracelet to the singer at one of her Eras Tour concerts.
Once the couple went public with their relationship, Swift became a fixture at Kelce’s games, and he attended several of her shows.
