The View didn’t air a new episode on Friday, April 3 — but when will the show return?
The long-running talk show kicked off its annual spring hiatus on Friday. The View typically does not air a new episode the Friday before Easter, which falls on Sunday, April 5.
In its place, ABC aired a repeat of The View that featured Elisabeth Hasselbeck as a guest panelist alongside cohosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Ana Navarro. The show has been rotating a series of guest hosts since Alyssa Farrah Griffin went on maternity leave in February.
One day before their break, Goldberg, 70, announced that Griffin, 36, would be returning to The View following their holiday hiatus.
“We are thrilled to let you know that Alyssa will be returning to the table when we come back live after the holidays,” Goldberg told the audience on Thursday, April 2.
The View is scheduled to return with new episodes on Monday, April 13. Griffin will be back that same day.
The long-running talk show will air a series of pre-taped installments on Saturday, April 4, and Easter Sunday. The following week will include encore airings featuring guests who have filled in for Griffin. (In addition to Hasselbeck, Abby Huntsman, Whitney Cummings, Sheryl Underwood and Savannah Chrisley have stepped in to help host.)
Griffin, who joined The View in 2021, announced during an October 2025 episode that she was pregnant with her first baby. (Alyssa and husband Justin Griffin went through multiple rounds of fertility treatments to expand their family.)
“Baby boy Griffin arrives this February,” she gushed during the show, revealing her baby bump for the audience. “I’m so glad to not have to hide it anymore. I can breathe.”
Four months later, Alyssa was missing from a February episode of The View. Goldberg revealed that Alyssa was in labor.
“She’s at the hospital right now!” Goldberg excitedly shared with the audience, which earned a round of cheers from her fellow cohosts and the audience. “And we are wishing her the best as she waits for her baby boy to arrive.”
The following day, Goldberg revealed that Alyssa was a proud mom to a baby boy, Justin Patrick Griffin, Jr.
“The first thing we want to do is start by congratulating Alyssa and her husband, Justin, on the birth of their baby boy,” she said.
Later that month, Alyssa gave a glimpse of her and Justin’s life as new parents.
“Full heart 💙,” she wrote via Instagram alongside a snap of her and Justin looking down lovingly at their newborn.
