A 25-year-old woman has been charged after a man was killed in an alleged hit-and-run just north of Perth on Thursday night.

Police and St John Ambulance were called to the scene on Harborne Street in Glendalough about 7.30pm on Thursday to help a pedestrian who had been hit by a car.

The 55-year-old man was taken to hospital, but later died from his injuries.

The alleged driver failed to stop at the scene, leading police to appeal for the public’s help to track them down.

On Saturday, it was revealed a 25-year-old woman has been charged with driver failed to stop and ensure assistance received after incident occasioning death, and driver failed to report an incident occasioning death or grievous bodily harm.

She is set to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on September 4.

Major crash detectives are still investigating the incident and have urged anyone with more information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact Crime Stoppers.
