People don’t usually expect an animal shelter to feel like a scene straight out of a children’s storybook, but that’s exactly the moment one woman captured during her visit—a moment that has now melted hearts across TikTok, racking up 3.3 million views.

The clip, posted under the handle, @thebeauedit shows the three Pomskies—a mix of Alaskan husky and Pomeranian—sitting in a perfect little lineup, shoulder-to-shoulder, gazing out of their enclosure with uncanny composure.

There they were Fifi—a light-blonde fluffball with a face many commenters insist is smirking, Forrest—white with rich dark-brown markings and Ferdinand—white with a softer shade of brown. All based at Wright-Way Rescue in Glenview, Illinois.

“Fifi definitely the big boss out of those [three]” pointed out one user. Another joked, “They look like they trouble,” racking up over 84,000 likes.

Others leaned into the mystery: “They in a cell for a reason.” Many more simply declared that they’d adopt all three on the spot.

While the internet delights in their synchronicity, the popularity of these puppies aligns with broader adoption trends.

In a survey of 1,491 adopters, dogs were rescued slightly more often than cats, and puppies made up the majority of dog adoptions. In fact, 69.4 percent of dog adoptions were puppies, showing that young dogs were especially popular.

When it came to why people chose their new pets, appearance was the number-one reason people adopted puppies.

  • Twenty-nine percent of puppy adopters said the puppy’s looks were the single most important factor in their decision.
  • This focus on appearance remained strong even when comparing puppies with adult dogs, for whom appearance (26.8 percent) was also a top reason.

The data shows that age plays a meaningful role in adoption motivations. For dogs—especially puppies—cute appearance is a particularly powerful driver compared to other factors like behavior or personality.

While many people dream of raising a puppy and growing older together, not everyone feels the need to start at the beginning. Newsweek has covered countless stories of adopters who prefer giving senior dogs a loving “retirement home,” offering them comfort, dignity, and a peaceful final chapter.

We previously spoke to Amber Walker from Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, she said: “Older pets are often overlooked in favor of younger ones due to concerns about medical costs, shorter life spans, or the misconception that they won’t bond as easily.

“However, senior animals are some of the most loyal, loving, and appreciative companions. They’re often already trained, calmer than younger pets, and just as eager to give and receive love.”

Newsweek reached out to @thebeauedit for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case.
