A woman online may have forgotten about a unique find at an antique shop—but her sister didn’t.
In a TikTok video, Jenna Tobillo, 27, shared her emotional reaction after realizing the thoughtful gesture her sister made for her engagement—going back to an antique store to buy a hand-stitched frame that Tobillo had once passed up. Tobillo spoke to Newsweek about the viral video, which has over 568,000 views, and about how the moment signifies her and her sister’s relationship.
“On November 23, 2024, I saw the cutest little frame but had no reason to buy it since I wasn’t engaged or married,” she wrote in the caption. “But the day my sister found out I was going to get engaged, she ran back to the antique store just to get it for me.”
“You went back!” Tobillo said in the video.
She told Newsweek that she first came across the picture frame while shopping with her now-fiancé, her sister and her sister’s fiancé before the holidays.
“I was so drawn to it because it had the cutest little ‘Recipe for Marriage’ that was obviously hand-stitched,” she said. “After consulting with my sister, she told me not to get it, because I am not…engaged yet and that would be pretty silly.”
What she didn’t know was that her sister had already made a plan.
“As soon as my sister and her fiancé got in the car, she looked at him and told him that she was going to get that for me as soon as she knew I was going to get proposed to,” Tobillo said.
By the time she unwrapped the frame at a party, she had completely forgotten about it, thinking it would be a framed photo of the two of them.
“I was instantly in shock when I opened it! I had zero idea that she would’ve gotten it for me and honestly forgot about it,” Tobillo said. “The idea of her remembering that I loved it and going back to get it for me made me so happy and grateful to have such a thoughtful big sister.”
‘My Very Best Friend’
Tobillo said the moment perfectly captures their bond.
“This explains our relationship to a T because we are best friends and would do anything to make the other happy,” she said.
Not only did her sister surprise her with the frame, but they now get to experience engagement and wedding preparations together—as the two of them are both engaged.
“Being able to go through your 20s with your sister is so special,” Tobillo added. “She is my very best friend.”
