A major rescue operation is under way to help a woman who fell 30 metres down a cliff face in the Blue Mountains.
Emergency services rushed to the Blue Mountains National Park at 11am on Saturday after a woman plunged down a slope in Leura.
The woman, aged in her 30s, fell down the Ben Trovato Wall at Sublime Point, a popular spot for climbers, a spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said. She remains in a stable condition and is being treated at the scene by four paramedics and a doctor for arm abrasions and back pain.
A spokesperson for NSW Police said they were called to a walking track in Leura, following reports of a hiker falling from a cliff.
“She is believed to be in a serious but stable condition,” the spokesperson said. “An operation to rescue the woman is under way.”
Several paramedics, as well as the NSW Ambulance Toll rescue helicopter, attended the scene.
