Amy Poehler and her boyfriend, Joel Lovell, were spotted out and about in Los Angeles earlier this week.
Poehler, 54, generally keeps her romance with Lovell under the radar. But on Tuesday, November 4, the couple was photographed leaving dinner at Sushi Park, a West Hollywood hotspot, per photos obtained by Just Jared.
For the evening out, Poehler wore a casual denim shirt and red pants while Lovell donned a blue button-down and black pants.
Poehler officially debuted her boyfriend, a podcast editor, during the 2025 Oscars back in March. Posing on the red carpet, the Emmy-winning actress and “Good Hang” podcaster rocked a classic black gown while Lovell suited up in a black tux and bowtie.
The duo have been linked since October 2024. Lovell marks Poehler’s first public relationship since comedian Nick Kroll, whom she dated from 2013 to 2015.
Previously, Poehler was married to actor-comedian Will Arnett. She and Arnett, 55, separated in 2014 after nine years of marriage and finalized their divorce in 2016. The exes share sons Archie, 17, and Abel, 14.
Arnett has praised the healthy dynamic that he and Poehler share as coparents.
“It’s been almost 10 years and my kids are so lucky that Amy is their mother,” he told The Guardian in 2022. “And I’m so lucky that we’re such a huge part of each other’s lives, even more so than we were five years ago.”
He called his separation from Poehler “excruciating” at first.
“Just brutal, brutal, brutal,” he told the outlet at the time. “I was driving to the set [for Arrested Development] one day and I pulled over to the side of the road and cried for an hour.”
Poehler, for her part, addressed the split in her 2014 memoir Yes Please.
“I am proud of how my ex-husband Will and I have been taking care of our children,” she wrote, revealing that she felt “incredibly alone” without her longtime partner. “I am beyond grateful he is their father, and I don’t think a 10-year marriage constitutes failure. That being said, getting a divorce really sucks.”
Arnett was briefly linked to interior designer Elizabeth Law in late 2016. He began dating Alessandra Brawn in 2019, with the pair welcoming a son, Alexander, the following year.
In April, Poehler surprised Arnett with a guest appearance on his “Smartless” podcast.
“Our youngest saw my schedule on the kitchen table and said, ‘You’re doing ‘Smartless?’ Does Dad know?’ And I said, ‘No, don’t say anything,’” Poehler said at the time, to which Arnett replied, “And also, Amy and I were texting last night about something else. Zero [clue].”
