Guy Archambault still has nightmares about the De la Concorde overpass collapse.
Twenty years since the Laval, Que., overpass collapsed on Highway 19 on Sept. 30, 2006, Archambault can still picture what it was like as one of the first responders to arrive at the scene.
“It was like a bomb explode,” the retired firefighter told Global News.
“They had a car with people trapped in the car. It was really bad to discover that.”
Five people were killed that day, including the parents of an eight-year-old boy and a couple that was expecting a baby. Six others were injured.
