We might be getting closer to the NBA Finals at the start of June, but we are also getting closer to the beginning of July, when free agency and trade season begin in the NBA, with what could be one of the wildest summers in recent memory.
At the forefront of that craziness is Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, who has been given an ultimatum by his own franchise that he led to a championship only a few years ago: sign an extension this summer or your time in Wisconsin is over.
The Athletic interviewed over 100 players during the NBA season, with the promise of anonymity, to answer survey questions, and one of the pressing inquiries was where his peers believe the “Greek Freak” will be playing next season.
Of the 151 players who answered the question, nearly half, at 45.7%, believe that he will find a resolution with the Bucks and at least start next season in Milwaukee.

To be fair, though, as mentioned in the article, these answers came during the season, before the Bucks began pressing for a resolution to the he-will-he-won’t saga by this offseason.
Aside from the Bucks, the top five teams his peers believe Antetokounmpo will go to are: Miami Heat (23.2%), New York Knicks (16.6%), Los Angeles Lakers (3.3%), Golden State Warriors (2%), and Minnesota Timberwolves (2%).
The Heat are an obvious destination for Antetokounmpo, as a hotbed for free agents and a franchise that will seemingly do anything to get another superstar player on its roster.
While the Knicks were heavily linked to the former MVP last season, the team’s current run in the NBA playoffs might make a deal for Antetokounmpo obsolete, depending on how they feel about their core by season’s end.
One player in the survey even said the Oklahoma City Thunder, which, if it happened, could bring on an even worse reaction than when Kevin Durant went to the Golden State Warriors a decade ago.
