One of the Luigi Mangione fangirl “journalists” lashed out at Brian Thompson’s widow in a sickening social media screed after the object of her obsession pleaded guilty to murder.
Lena Weissbrot, one of the three deranged fangirls called the “Mangionistas,” who were given press credentials by the Mamdani administration, reposted horrifying comments about Paulette Thompson — justifying the killing of her husband and suggesting she was complicit in murder.
“Oh the comment section does not disappoint on this reel!! A plurality of people feel exactly like I do,” Weissbrot wrote on an Instagram story followed by reposting a series of lowlights from keyboard Communists in the comment section.
“[I] know, id cry too if my husband was responsible for millions of people dying due to denied claims for life saving treatment,” read one reposted comment.
“Maybe the wife of the CEO could give away some of their riches to people who can’t pay their medical bills,” another comment read.
“You talking about the woman that was living a privileged life on the backs of the sick and dying?” another comment read.
“Luigi is a hero. Brian Thompson denied CANCER patients treatment. Private health insurance CEOs kill is every day,” another comment read.
“Federal pardon from the next good president, or free him during the revolution,” one internet radical wrote.
Weissbrot, 32, has been a mainstay outside the courthouse in downtown Manhattan during the Mangione trial, but was absent from the proceedings on Friday when he pleaded guilty to killing Brian Thompson in cold blood.
In a bizarre on-camera interview where the Mangionistas were defending their right to have press credentials for operating a barely-read blog, one of Weissbrot’s colleagues unleashed a hateful tirade against the victim of Mangione’s crime.
“F—k Brian Thompson,” said Ashley Rojas while brandishing a press badge. “That’s all I want to say. F—k Brian Thompson. F—k his mom.”
Weissbrot’s own mother, Reina Natero, works in health insurance, overseeing prescription drug coverage rules at CVS Health.
The 57-year-old trained pharmacist has worked for big pharma for more than two decades, according to her LinkedIn.
Mangione, 28, admitted in federal court to using a 3D-printed handgun to shoot and kill Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, on Dec. 4, 2024.
The Manhattan US Attorney’s Office said it will urge the judge to send Mangione to prison for the rest of his life when he is sentenced on Dec. 18.
“Mangione attempted to send a public message through violence,” said Jamie McDonald, the head of the Southern District of New York, in a press conference on the courthouse steps after Mangione’s guilty plea.
“But the message that emerges today is very different: violence is not a legitimate instrument to promote any political or social message. Those who resort to violence in an effort to advance their beliefs will be prosecuted, convicted, and put in jail.”
Mangione’s plea came just weeks before jury selection in his state case — where he’s still charged with second-degree murder and illegal weapons possession — was set to kick off on Sept. 8.
The fate of that case remains unclear, as Mangione’s lawyers filed a motion in state court, saying that his plea had triggered “double jeopardy,” in which a person cannot be convicted twice for the same crime.
