A 38-year-old man is in police custody as homicide squad detectives investigate the death of a 28-year-old woman in St James on Wednesday night.
Emergency services were called to the home on Taree Street about 8.30pm, arriving to find the woman unresponsive and with “critical injuries”, a WA Police spokeswoman said.
The woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, where she was declared dead.
According to WA Police, the man in custody is known to the woman.
Officers remain at the scene on Thursday morning investigating the death.
