Police have shot dead a man after being called to a domestic violence incident at a property north of Brisbane.
Officers attended the house on Cavill Way in Narangba about 12.30am following reports that a man with a firearm was making threats.
It is alleged the man approached police and made threats while armed with the firearm. He was shot as a result.
Officers provided first aid and CPR, but the man could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramedics took three family members to hospital for emotional support.
It is unknown whether the man had any current domestic and family violence orders against him, or whether he was known to police.
The Ethical Standards Command unit is investigating the incident.
It comes as Nine News revealed 29 Queensland police were involved in shootings resulting in serious injury or death in the three years to the end of 2025.
Between March and April this year, there were four police shootings – in Tingalpa, Woombye, Logan Central and Arana Hills.
